Getting straight in on building the foundation set by season 1, the first episode of Gyeongseong Creature season 2 starts with a biker heading somewhere. He looks very similar to the protagonist from the previous season, Jang Tae-sang, with a surgical scar on the back of his neck. The biker is captured by Captain Kuroko which adds to the mystery surrounding his identity.
At the same time, there’s an enigmatic scene where Mr Oh is desperately looking for his son, Oh Ki-hoon, missing for 10 days. He goes to ask for help and Madam Na connects him with Yoon Chae-ok who is a private detective and goes by the name Silverbill.
The Gyeongseong Creature episode then introduces Ho-Jae, a private investigator, who works with his friend Yong-gil on small cases like, exposing illicit affairs. On their quest in one such case, they stumble upon Oh Ki-hoon in a motel, but he’s dead.
Chae-ok and Ho-Jae Cross Paths
During this, Chae-ok and Ho-Jae cross paths and then suddenly there is chaos as she tries to fight to protect her identity from him and escape with sketches that Ki-hoon had made.
However, when Chae-ok’s eyes fall upon Ho-jae, she is dumbfounded as he looks extremely similar to his decades old lover, Jang Tae-sang. Apparently, Ho-jae is thought to be guilty of the murder and has 10 days to prove himself. Chae-ok offers to help him while expecting to find answers to her personal questions.
As the episode proceeds, the connection between the two deepens, leading to an emotional climax in the scene. At the end viewers are left with hints of mysterious dark experiments being conducted at Jeonseung Biotech, a company where the creature, Najin, was first revealed. Unlike the historical fiction setting in season 1, season 2 is set in modern-day Seoul.
Overall the 1st episode of Gyeongseong Creature season 2 mystery-thriller reveals disappearances and deaths with lots of confusion about who is who. That’s intriguing but you will be left to figure out a lot on your own in a way that is exciting and full of curiosity.
