Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 is filled with moments of both sorrow and surprise. The epilogue has shown major plot developments surrounding key characters. One of the main highlights was the unexpected death of Tsumiki Fushiguro while in another turn of events, the fan-favourite character of Fumihiko Takaba makes a surprising return.
Tsumiki’s Death
As the chapter begins, Megumi Fushiguro and Shoko Ieiri visit the grave of Tsumiki (Megumi’s sister). A sorcerer named Yorozu had overtaken her body in order to assist the powerful Sukuna. In a chaotic Culling Game, Yorozu unfortunately passes away and takes Tsumiki’s life as well. Since Megumi entered the deadly game along with Yuji for the sole reason of saving his sister, this tragic incident was unbearable for him. In spite of putting in all the efforts and fighting multiple battles, Megumi couldn’t protect Tsumiki and this failure left a deep scar within him.
Further intensifying this emotional burden, Megumi gets completely taken over by Sukuna. This was something he had been struggling with for a long time. His guilt was driven by the dual factor of the loss of his body’s control and the inability of saving Tsumiki. The chapter sends a deep message and is a harsh reminder of how sometimes even the most well-thought plans fail to work and the people involved have to cope up with personal losses in a chaotic environment.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270: Finding Hope Amidst the Gloom
Within all the gloominess, there is still a little hope. As some Jujutsu Sorcerers were able to survive the deadly Culling Game and activate their powers before it was suddenly interrupted, they may still be floating around Japan, keeping their inherent abilities intact. Up next, Yuji and Hana have the daunting task of separating these individuals from their powers.
Chapter 270 came with another unexpected revelation as Fumihiko Takaba managed to survive. After his comedic showdown with Kenjaku, many of the fans assumed that he might be dead. The chapter, however, shows Takaba alive and well while working on his latest comedy routine. His survival is particularly commendable, if not expected, considering his Cursed Technique and the series’ meta-awareness of his gag character status.
Chapter 270 perfectly balances the sadness of Tsumiki’s death with the lighthearted and humorous survival of Takaba and exemplifies how Jujutsu Kaisen has carved its unique place in the anime industry by masterfully interweaving dark themes with entertaining moments.
