Match Preview
New Zealand will be looking to regain their rhythm after a disappointing T20 series against India in Indian conditions. With new challenges ahead, they will be keen to bounce back, especially given their strong track record in ICC tournaments.
Afghanistan, meanwhile, have performed well in recent series in this format and will rely on key players such as Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to get off to a positive start.
Rashid Khan stands out as the top choice for the captaincy role after scoring 602 runs and picking up 187 wickets in this format. Mitchell Santner, who has taken 135 wickets and scored 935 runs in this format, shapes up as the leading option for the vice captaincy role.
