Gyeongseong Creature episode 2 is where the action, mystery, and thriller feeds itself to extremes as to have you seated on the very edge of your couch.
It starts with Chae-ok affected by the Najin virus that causes her to hallucinate and see herself surrounded by dead people, killed by her. Drenched with perplexity, she runs away and discovers ground littered with more dead bodies.
This solid start of Gyeongseong Creature episode 2 sets the high tone for the rest of the episode. Shifting scenes from a flashback of Korea’s independence back to the present, she wonders why Najin killings have started again. Looking at Ho-jae adds to her confusion as she thinks he is Tae-sang but he insists otherwise. Suddenly, she turns cold and when Ho-jae asks for her help to find the real killer, she refuses.
Ho-jae’s connection with Tae-sang is a long thread that keeps extending throughout the episode. Suspicious, he tries to ask his friend Yong-gil about the past as he cannot remember anything beyond a year. But Yong-gil gets shaky and tells him nothing.
Dark Discoveries in Gyeongseong Creature Season 2
Choe-ok finds out to her surprise that the killer has hired Madam Na to find Ho-jae and also did the digging into her past. But before Madam Na can warn her about the impending terror, the killer ends up murdering her.
Further in the episode, we see Detective Noh shows a repetitive pattern of killings – similar to Oh Ki-hoon’s – with missing brains to Ho-jae. But they are interrupted when they learn about Madam Na’s death and head to the bar where Ho-jae finds Chae-ok running after the killer.
As the two fight, the killer stabs her but Ho-jae reaches in time and saves her. Chae-ok blacks out and dreams of Tae-sang. This marks the heart-wrenching scene of the whole episode as she is reminded of what she has lost.
Finally, the villains are brought to the screen. Captain Kuroko punishes Seung-jo, the killer, for being reckless with the murder but he accuses him in return. This builds up tension between them.
As we reach the end of mystery thriller Gyeongseong Creature epi 2, Chae-ok reappears and accepts Ho-jae’s offer to work together. We also see the cliffhanger where a new mysterious character pops up named M.
