Match Preview
West Indies will take on Afghanistan and will be looking to correct their course after losing their previous T20I series to New Zealand by a 3–1 margin. Prior to that, they had whitewashed Bangladesh in a three-match T20 series, which showed their potential in this format.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan come into this series on the back of consecutive series wins and will be keen to extend their winning momentum. The two sides have faced each other 8 times in T20 internationals, with West Indies holding the edge with 5 wins, while Afghanistan have won 3 matches.
Azmatullah Omarzai, who has scored 693 runs and picked up 43 wickets in the format, has been in good form recently and stands out as the top choice for the captaincy role. Rashid Khan, with 182 wickets and 602 runs to his name, remains a strong option for vice-captaincy, given his impact with the ball and his ability to contribute down the order with the bat.
