It is the business end of the tournament as eight teams battle out for a spot in the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 starting on 6th February. Ahead of this exciting round of knockout matches do check out our Ranji Trophy quarter final predictions, previews and which team has the best chance of qualifying to the semi’s.
Jharkhand vs Uttarakhand – Quarter Final 1, Jamshedpur
Jharkhand enter Quarter Final 1 as Elite Group A toppers, driven by a dominant batting unit. Shikhar Mohan’s breakout season and the consistency of Kumar Kushagra have repeatedly allowed Jharkhand to bat teams out of games. Anukul Roy has led the bowling, but their attack has often depended on scoreboard pressure rather than relentless wicket-taking.
Uttarakhand, Elite Group C runners-up, arrive with a bowling-first identity. Mayank Mishra and Deepak Dhapola have controlled matches all season, while Kunal Chandela anchors the batting. On a surface where early wickets matter, Uttarakhand’s disciplined bowling gives them a slight edge in pressure situations.
Madhya Pradesh vs Jammu & Kashmir – Quarterfinal 2, Indore
Unbeaten Elite Group B toppers Madhya Pradesh remain one of the most balanced red-ball sides in the competition as they take on J&K at Indore. Saransh Jain’s all-round influence and Kumar Kartikeya’s consistency with the ball have ensured control across sessions.
Jammu & Kashmir, second in Elite Group D, have impressed with fearless cricket, led by the batting of Abdul Samad and Paras Dogra and the incisive pace of Auqib Nabi. While J&K have the tools to challenge, MP’s knockout experience and depth make them marginal favourites at Indore.
Bengal vs Andhra – Quarterfinal 3, Kalyani
Bengal have been the most dominant side of the league stage, topping Elite Group C with 36 points. Their success has come from balance—reliable middle-order runs and Shahbaz Ahmed’s match-turning spells with the ball.
Andhra arrive unbeaten from Elite Group A, built around a strong batting core and Saurabh Kumar’s consistency. However, Bengal’s home familiarity and long-standing knockout pedigree make them clear favourites, with Andhra needing exceptional top-order performances to stay competitive.
Mumbai vs Karnataka – Quarter Final 4, Mumbai
Quarter Final 4 promises the most intrigue. Mumbai, Elite Group D toppers, combine history with form, led by a prolific batting season and Shams Mulani’s tireless bowling. Karnataka, eight-time champions, rely on the rich form of Devdutt Padikkal, Karun Nair and R Smaran, backed by Shreyas Gopal’s wicket-taking threat. Mumbai hold a slight edge at home, but Karnataka remain a genuine wildcard capable of pushing this contest deep.
