Match Preview
Sydney Sixers showed a strong turnaround to finish second in the group stage but suffered a setback after losing the qualifier against Perth Scorchers. They now head into the Challenger, where a win will take them to the final, while a loss will end their campaign. Apart from the defeat against the Scorchers, the Sixers have been impressive in their recent outings and will back themselves to deliver when it matters most.
Meanwhile, Hobart Hurricanes come into this contest on the back of a narrow win over Melbourne Stars in the knockout game and will be eager to build on that momentum to secure a place in the final. These two sides met once earlier in the tournament, but the match was abandoned due to rain.
Jack Edwards stands out as the top choice for the captaincy role, having scored 115 runs and picked up 17 wickets so far in the tournament. Steven Smith, who has also been impressive with the bat, scoring 210 runs in just 4 games, is a strong option for the vice-captaincy role, while Joel Davies, Mitchell Owen, and Nikhil Chaudhary remain among the must-have picks for this game.
